2022 FFL Rule Changes
The
following are changes to the FFL Rule Book for the 2022 season that
clarify and modify certain items based on prior seasons' precedents
(more details on each of the below items can be found in the Rule Book
itself):
Rule 2-A and 2-B: Rosters expand from 18 to 19 players, with
number of wide receivers going from 5 to 6; lineups will have 3 wide
receivers (this was announced prior to 2022).
Rule 2-D: Upon FFL re-opening,
coaches over roster limits at given position must address situation
before being able to re-sign any of their Restricted Free Agents.
Rule 3-B: If a depth chart is submitted that includes practice
squad rookies, then those players will be presumed activated if a coach
does not clearly indicate the same at the time of submission.
Rule 4-B: Lineups sent to only
the commissioner must be re-submitted to the entire league before it
can be accepted (normal lineup submission deadlines still apply).
Rule 4-C: Emails simply stating
that the coach wishes to use the same lineup as the prior week are no
longer valid lineup submissions; all lineups must be fully typed out in
the email body. Coaches do not need to include the player's position or
first name, but if the coach has multiple players with the same last
name, it is strongly suggested the coach clearly indicate which
player(s) are to be in the lineup.
Rule 4-I: Depth Chart Instance Policy has been updated for the 2022 season; see updated Policy for a more detailed explanation.
Rule 9-A: Coaches who sign
players must email the transaction to the entire league; emails sent
only to the commissioner will not be processed, and he will ask the
coach to forward the email to the league or re-send the email to the
league; if another coach signs the player under the correct procedure
before this can occur, then that coach would receive the player instead
of the first coach.
Rule 9-B: If a player is
eligible for multiple positions on other fantasy football sites, his
FFL eligibility will be based on his listed position on NFL.com;
multi-position eligible players can only be inserted in lineups once.
Rule 9-F: Changed to reflect expansion of NFL schedule to 18 weeks.
Rule 10-E: If the commissioner
wishes to make a waiver claim, he can either send the email to a coach
lower on the waiver list than his team, or he may opt to send the claim
to the coach who cut the player since that coach cannot make a waiver
claim in this case.
Rule 13: Defense returning a missed field goal for a touchdown will earn 6 points (like a blocked field goal).
For Pro Bowl only, additional scoring brackets have been added: scoring
plays of 75+ yards will count 15 points (30 points for out-of-position
scores), field goals of 60+ yards will count 8 points, and special
teams touchdowns (i.e. kickoff and punt returns) will count 6 points
for a team defense (with that position changing from DEF to DST for the
Pro Bowl only).
Rule 14-F: Changed to reflect the expansion of the NFL
schedule to 18 weeks; if the Week 16 Fantasy Bowl ends in a tie, then
the Pro Bowl will be moved to Week 18 to enable a champion to be
determined in Week 17. If there is still a tie in Week 17, then
the championship tiebreaker rules will apply.
Players on Injured Reserve can be named to all-division teams, but are
ineligible to play in Pro Bowl even if they are no longer injured;
injury replacements will be designated by commissioner for these and
other players injured/inactive between team announcements and start of
Week 17 based on points scored for season, with highest-scoring players
not already on Pro Bowl rosters being chosen first.
Rule 14-G: Commissioner will
nominate and coaches (excluding commissioner) will vote for FFL Awards,
using ranked choice voting; see primer on main page for full details.
Rule 15-B: It is the coach's
responsibility to request a scoring review; if one is not requested,
the score as of the Wednesday deadline is final regardless of whether
or not score is 100% accurate.
